What's the difference between an nxp and ntag nfc tag ?
It's important first to know the difference between an NFC tag and an NFC chip. Every NFC tag, such as a sticker or plastic disc, contains an antenna and a tiny microchip. The microchip is the 'NFC chip'.
There are different types of NFC chip and they have varying amounts of memory and features. A feature, for example, might be the ability for the chip to count how many times it has been scanned.
One type of NFC chip is the NTAG series which includes the NTAG213, NTAG210 and NTAG424. Think of this a bit like Intel's 'Core' series of chips. A range of chips that use the same fundamentals but have varying amounts of memory and features.
NXP is the 'Intel' - the company that makes the NTAG series of microchips. It's worth stating that they are the only company that makes the NTAG series of microchips.
There are other NFC chip series as well such as the MIFARE which includes the MIFARE Classic and the MIFARE Ultralight. There are also other chip manufacturers such as EM Electronics.
